Some beautiful flowers on show here in Penwith at the moment. Not sure what this is called but is stunning to see.

Now for some colour!

Enough of the black and white. Bank holiday is nearly upon us, the weather looks like being a little on the damp side and some of us will have to work. However, the waves are small but clean, so here's a bit of colour to brighten up the weekend.

One man and his dog!

Skelly was here on holiday with his lovely partner Sandra and their dog Sam. This is him playing a 150 year old Concertina. The instrument is a a free-reed musical instrument, like the various accordions and the harmonica and was developed in England and Gerrmany. Skelly learnt to play this after a bet in a pub, and he's pretty bloody good. I like this shot as he's a cornish boy, in front of an old cornish cottage with his good old dog, playing some old tunes on his old Concertina. If you want to say hi to Skelly you can catch him at Gulf Stream Surfboards in Devon where apparently, the place is currently stacked out with beautiful twin keeled fishes.

Her indoors!!!

Please check out my wifes new blog (www.jillpierreartworks.blogspot.com). She has posted her first piece today. This will sound subjective but Jill is a beautiful artist and creates some fantastic pieces of work including sketches, paintings, sculpture and photography. Please enjoy her work and feel free to comment.

More Alex

Another little snippet of Alex Knost. My friend once asked him if he did dance at school. He didn't get it! When I explained that it was because he was so animated on his board he finally understood the comment.

One California Day 2

There's a section in One California Day that features Alex Knost talking about his influences and his style. When shooting photos of him in Devon he definately had a unique and eccentric style that was amazing to witness from a few feet away and not from the sofa. However, a new DVD, a cup of tea or two and a packet of biscuits goes a long way to improving your own surfing by just studying the masters over and over again. The joy of rewind!

One California Day

Just grabbed myself a copy of One California day by Jason Baffa, the guy who made Single fin Yellow. I have waited about two years for this to reach our shores. Great film, beautiful surfing and makes you want to get in there like swimwear! Tyler Hatzikian Hangin ten, Devon, UK.

Go bleakers!

Good luck to Sam Bleakley who's currently surfing the World Longboard Championships in France. As of today Sam is through to the second round. Check out www.aspworldtour.com for the latest updates. Other Brits down there are Ben Skinner and Adam Griffiths. Ben has a real chance of winning after narrowly losing out at the ISA World Surfing games last year where he beat the best and finished runner up.

'Pete the Meat'

This is Pete Evans, recently he gained a place at Bath University to study fine art and is currently putting his final exhibition together for his college course. Pete used to be 'skinny Pete', he then started training, boxing and in his words now has a "healthy rig". For this reason we now call him 'Pete the Meat'. According to my wife he also has some silky moves on the dance floor as a result of once being part of the Fiona Richardson school of dance in Penzance!
