Hot Curl

Jonty Henshall is a local surfer, he makes beautiful kitchens, produces some amazing pieces of sculpture and also shapes a few boards that go really well in our Celtic surf and that includes Ireland. This is Jonty testing the noseriding abilities of his 6'4" wide arsed style wombat thang!

Gently does it.

It would be hard to do this gentle paddle out in todays conditions. Absolutley howling in your face North winds.

'Pimp my ride'

Sad, but still a classic. Let Xhibit get his hands on this one.

Lady Glide

Possibly one of the most stylish lady longboarders in the UK. Grace Davies surfing her home break in St Oens, Jersey at the British Championships. Sister of Joe Davies these pair have been to the same school of cool. The one where grades are awarded for not over doing it, where simplicity is the key to graduation. Top marks.

Little beauty

Well its taken a while, it's Sunday evening and we're finally back online. This has seemed like a long old saga. I shall be resuming regualr updates as of now. To welcome you all back, a tasty little peeler, spotted through the grass. Best of all it's empty, its also a left and just after this shot was taken I was in there like swim wear.

Huck a duck!

last night I received a copy of the latest Huck through the post. This made my wife Jill super stoked as she finally got her picture in a Magazine. The piece titled 'Wild West Surfing' by Alex wade is accompanied by a few of my Black and White shots from the past few years. All these prints can be purchased from myself and a selection are limited print runs. Just contact me through this site or email russ96uk@yahoo.com
The weeknd also saw the 'Board Shorts' Film show at the Sandsifter. Some great footage and slide shows were seen by a great turn out. Unfortunately my slide show experienced a few techical hitches which was disappointing for me but many friends and fellow photographers were very complimentory which raised my spirits so thankyou. I personally thought that Greg Martins shots captured what seems like an amzing year as photo editor of Pit Pilot. Some cracking line up shots that made most people wonder where they were when these waves were being surfed. I'll be back online at home today so look out for some new shots and rants from the Sennen area.

Go Chaps!

The second leg of the world longboard tour kicked of yesterday with the Uk being represented by Ben Skinner and Sam Bleakley. The event being held at the classic break of San Onofre has seen some clean peaky waves and according to Sam who has reported on the first days action seems to be agreable with some fine logging. Good luck to our chaps. To check the results go to www.aspworldtour.com for info. This is Sam ripping in West Penwith wholst doing a shoot for his sponsors Oxbow.

Coming back at ya!

I seem to be apologising for my absence a great deal lately, and for the two people that regualarly check in I'm sorry. I have moved house and have been without internet access for nearly two weeks. This should be sorted today. In the meantime our new house has amazing views of my favourite beach, that this past year I have unfortunately not had much opportunity to surf. I could instantly annoy the entire surfing community by putting a web cam in my kitchen window, but this will NOT be happening. Its great to be back over at Sennen with plenty of space for the little one and fresh air a plenty. Well this weekend sees the 'Board Shorts' film festival up a the Sandsifter where I have a slide show happening amongst all the other films and entertainment. This shot above can also be seen in this months Huck magazine, accompanied by a few words from Alex Wade. Unfortunately my other piece that was to be in 'Drift' this month has been temporarily suspended as the coolest mag in ages can't get enough advertising from the big surf brands. This is a real shame, not as I won't get to see my shots and text in print but the fact that surf brands won't coff up and support a new magazine that offers something a little different than your main stream rip and shred mags aimed at grommets. I do work in a surf shop and I know how much they charge for their products, put some profit back in, please, don't give it all to Slater, even if he is an alright surfer. Thoughts welcome. Personally I'm gutted.
