'Sunny Days'

The sun is here again after weeks of gloomy grey winter weather. The wind has dropped the waves are clean and the parks are dry. Olly Clark, speed run at the Penzance Bowl.

'Mad Dogs and Englishmen'

Ah the joy of the english tourist. Say no more, patriotic from the hat to the pet.

Hitman!

Away travelling Oz now with his lady, Sam will surely return wanting to surf hard and hit harder to try and capture the boxing title he so closely came to winning in 2007. I believe he may have a new job with surftech surfboards waiting for him as well.

'Sleepless in Penzance'

In the middle of the night whilst trying to get Jago to sleep I took a shot out of the window and this was the result. A bit like my mind at the moment glowing one minute, out of focus the next with moments of clarity in between somewhere.

'hack attack'

Many people that have been to Ireland with John come back with tales of his backside tube riding, his flawless approach to dropping in to the most critical waves and his overall flow on a surfboard. This is John Buchorski when he had stickers on his board, now he just surfs for fun.

bustin' out

This is my good friend Joe Hart enjoying a chilly winter session on his twinnie. Joes a classic, shapes the odd board and takes care of his family and friends. If you see a man surfing in Bournemouth that resembles a plump blueberry them thats Joe in his custom wetsuit courtesy of Snugg!!! Be nice to him and don't drop in!!!!

Hangin' around

Playing around on the nose. This was taken recently at a local south coast spot. It was peeling beautifully and made a perfect wave to just hang on in there.

My little beauties!!

Lefts are best!

A little spot just down the road from my old house. Fickle, often a closeout, fast but occassionally classic.

'Granite'

Earlier this year I was lucky enough to take a boat trip with my friend local fisherman and restaurant owner Phil Shannon. He took me round Lands End to places only accessible by boat. The shapes and striking features of the granite is truly amazing. If ever you find yourself in Sennen, try to get on a boat and do this trip. We were able to catch our supper as well. Fresh Mackeral, Bass and Pollack, nice straight on the BBQ! This spring I will begin to document the local Sennen fishermen alongside Phil and the younger guys.

Sennen Overview

A wide angle look at Sennen Cove here in West Cornwall. From Cape Cornwall on the far right to the fishing village on the left. One of the most beautiful places in the world. Nice boards too!

'Chunky Brother'

As a fellow founder member of the Chunky Brothers, Darren Hall excels in cleaning up his plate. A master of the knife and fork with an undeniable ability to pick of the weak ones when sitting round the dinner table. Our motto is 'Leave None'. We're not fat, certainly not obesse, and we can take pride in counting Tyler Hatzikian as an honourary member of the Chunky Brothers. Darren also cuts a bit of a dash on his 10 footer.

He's back!

Last year Alex White from Noosa Heads came to Sennen and impressed us all. Alex is a super stylish logger but rides everything. he's been back for a few months now and in true Oz overseas style is taking in the sights, Scotland, Wales, Barcelona, Hossegor and maybe a trip to Canada with James Parry. Top guy and nice as pie!

Glide Lines

Ah the sight of clean lines when you come to the brow of the hill, the edge of a cliff, or like this spot the edge of the car park. I decided with this photo to mimic the first thing you may often do, rub you eyes to make sure your not seeing things.

Captain Skelly

If you ever travel to Gulf Stream Surfshop or surf out and around the Saunton or Croyde area, you'll see this man stylin'. If you ever get a chance to pop round his house for a cuppa you'll find one of the most extensive collections of British surfboards, long and short. Some absolute beautiful examples of our surfing heritage. Skelly is a great bloke who will help you choose the best board for you and unlike many surf shops can show you exaclty how they should be ridden.

New Year Boost

St. Ives Local ripper Jayce Robinson letting rip whilst on a day trip to Sennen. Some great surfers in St. Ives often not seen in the main stream press but always worth watching when they hit the water.

'Happy New Year'

Happy New Year to you all. I hope we all have a prosperous and healthy one. For those of us who surf I would like to think that 2008 will bring the swells, clean waves and less crowds, for those who don't surf, enjoy what you do and be nice to each other whilst doing it!!
