With a stella cast at this years Hip Wiggling Invitational held at Gwithian beach, in small but perfectly formed peelers. Every heat was a closely run expression of how to wiggle the hips, flik the hair, ride the nose and represent everything that is great about single fin logging. Personally, I had my heat, got knocked out as usual, and took the opportunity to shoot some of the best logging I have yet to witness, including the 2012 winner Joe Davies. His surfing was exceptional all day and he deserved to win no argument from most. Now riding for Trim Surfboards who import some of the finest logs from across the globe, Joe was riding a beautiful Andreini, and sporting the Matuse wetsuits he now stocks in his Jersey shop
Little Joes. It was a pleasure to watch everyone surf and especially great when Joe finished his heat and between Elliot Dudley, Joe and a 9'8" Bing Elevator, gave Jago a few waves!! Classic day of surfing and a massive shout out to James Parry who has this comp nailed. Great support from everyone at Sunset Surf and a big welcome to Bing Copeland himself, Matt Calvani and Catherine, and Handsome Mick who made the final surfing oh so stylishly. More photos to come.
