Pigs by Slide 65 Surfboards

Check this fine piece crackling, a Piggy delight. Rob Wright is producing some absolutely beautiful boards and I can't wait to get my hands on mine. My 9'4" Pintail was shaped at the weekend and now stands overlooking the glassers door waiting patiently for its resin tint and volan blanket to keep it warm. The Slide 65 website is under construction and Rob is also currently working on a more user friendly shape for those who may not want one of his more distinct shapes. There will be a full price list and profile of each board on the site but if any one is interested now and just plain can't wait the number can be found down in the links. Look for Slide 65 surfboards and give Rob a call.

Bird racing

Its not all surf and sun in Sennen, occasionally there is the serious business of Pigeon Racing. The Grand National of bird racing departed from Sennen this morning, 4000 highly trained pigeons, with the determination of top class atheletes, left the beautiful shores of West Cornwall to head back to Northern Ireland, a five hour trip as the pigeon flies. As in any race you have those that refuse to jump a hurdle or leave the starting gate. As I look out of my kitchen window there are four not so highly trained pigeons either wondering where all their mates went or decided that a holiday in Sennen was a better option than going home.
