Mitch Abshire by Dane peterson

After yesterdays sad news of Andy Irons passing away I have been reading lots of blogs and heart felt words about a great surfer. In that process I came to my regular look into Dane Petersons amazing Blog and have snatched this great shot he's taken of Mitch Abshire, californian legend, owner of Captains Helm. I read a story about the man in an old issue of longboard magazine, a story worth reading and one regret I have from being in california this past summer is not getting the chance, or should i say not making more of an effort, to drop into to meet him. If your a surfer you can't fail to be stoked by the amazing shots we come across each time you open a magazine or go blogging after you settle in the evening. As a photographer you can't help but draw upon these visions. Lately I am inspired, very inspired and when the shit surf sorts itself out I'm on the case. I've been trawling the great blogs that inspire. Anyone who rides a longboard should have heard of Dane Peterson. Not only is he an amazing logger/surfer he is also a fantastic photographer. For years he was the centre of attention, in front of the lens and for those not familiar with his name, he takes some amazing shots. Love your work DP! This is Kassia Meador stylin.
