KooK Issue 3.

I'm sure many of you avid surfers have partaken in a cup of fine tea, a hob nob and a read of the new Kook mag/paper. If you haven't, its a great read and availabe here. I am fortunate enough to have a piece in there called Visualised Drifter (excuse a couple of typos), but if you haven't seen it yet, my bit is available here on my website. By the way this shot (which I'm quietly stoked with) is John Eldridge, great surfer, creative lord, and contributor to the fine KOOK, doing what he does best, styling. I must also add that Kook is put together by Dan Crockett and Alex Rowse, two more creative lords.

Hip WIgglers on Film

Amazing little edit by John Eldridge and his fiance Mathilda of the Hip Wigglers a couple of weeks back. Such a great day and have to say again and again the level of longboarding was so high. Honoured to be an invitee amongst these boys and gals.

Mr Natty a right proper Barber

My family, Larry and Oran Lynch travelled up to Crackington Haven yesterday for the 2011 Eurpean Fish Fry. There were some great boards to be seen and many people had bought their own special vehicles they have in their own quivers, from Pavel, Kookbox, Skip Frye and even Al Knosts 15th board he shaped which Mr John Eldridge had purchased on a recent trip. However, the highlight for me was Mr Natty, seen here getting a trim and a piece of beard action. Mr Natty was a the barber to the lords, and high profile types. Matt travels the world with his pop up barbers shop and cuts hair and is just one of those classic guys you meet every now and then. Could not resist getting my own hair done. Look out for Mr Natty at next years Surf Fayre. Great fun day and great to catch up with friends like Sally from Original Surfboard Company and Alex Rowse who showed had his Ryan Lovelace Hull there. I've not had the pleasure of seeing a true hull up close like this and never realised how extreme they can be, a thing of beauty. Great Day.

Meet Mr Eldridge.

I'd not seen John Eldridge for a good couple of years really. He's been away travelling and surfing. John is a surf I always like to see, he's smooth and creative and was riding some great looking boards. John was an invitee at the Hip Wigglers and one of the great things about the comp was the seeing what people are riding. The guys at Empire are making some great looking boards and with Nick Radford and Alex Rowse riding them, they have an amazing bunch of hip wigglers putting them through their paces. Always a pleasure to see these chaps surf.
