Came across this shot of Skip Frye. Just as stylish on a skateboard. After reading Joel Tudors Interview in July's surfer magazine he mentioned how many surfers would benefit by getting on a skateboard. Wise words.

I don't think I have ever really said in all my time doing this blog how much I admire the surfing of Joel Tudor, well I have now. Never met him, maybe one day would be great, until then images like this make me want to go surf. Always inspiring.

New Date for the Hip Wigglers

Due to James Parry being so bloody good, he went and got invited to California to compete in the Joel Tudor Duct Tape Invitational at Malibu on the 10th and 11th of September. This means that we all have to re-arrange our diaries, move things around and accommodate James, again!! That boy thinks of no one but himself sometimes and always puts his own surfing and grand achievements before any arrangements we may have made, so selfish, we're always having to see him jet off for some photo shoot or winter in Oz, wishing him luck and all that. I'll be glad when he is past this phase of being so bloody good, stylish, inspiring and super smooth and things settle down and gets himself a real job. One day he might stand up to the likes of Joel Tudor and says 'I'm sorry Joel,legend that you are, I'd love to come to your amazing competition and surf with the best in the world, see my mates, which lets face it Joel would be alright, a comp that all my UK mates would love to come to, but honestly Joel, I can't let them down so I'll be staying in the UK and running the Hip Wigglers on the same weekend as the Duct Tape because my mates are depending on me and on the Sunday I might even try and win the World Belly Board Championship as well.'
Seriously, everyone is so stoked for you mate, even if you do look like a thunderbird in your new RASH wetsuit!! Get yourself to Cali and do your thing mate, with this new date in september on a great weekend for surfing the Hip Wigglers will be epic and the World Belly Boarding will be classic as usual.

Trimmin'

Pazza again in Trim and stylin'. James has been invited out to Malibu by Joel Tudor for the Duct Tape Invitational there next month. Straight after the Hip Wigglers event at Gwithian, which has now been brought forward to the 3/4th September he will fly out a day later and show of his talents in the good ol' US of A.

Our very own Sennen slider is competing in probably one of the most exciting competitions this weekend. The Joel Tudor Duct Tape invitational held in Salinas in Spain will see james compete alongside the best loggers. !6 have been selected, including Alex knost, Tyler Warren and Chris Del Moro. Best of luck to james, being recognised for his unbelievable talent on a longboard. A few of the Sennen Crew have gone down to support and I'm sure will be hooting the loudest.

Son of a Sailor

Oran Lynch, redirecting in the small waves. This young man is off on a road trip with his Dad (board caddy) to watch Sennen's James Parry compete in the Joel Tudor Duct Tape Invitational in Salinas and possibly become the most stoked, inspired and inspiring grommet I have seen since James Parry was Oran's age. Watch out Thailand

James is off to Thailand in a couple of weeks to spend some time shooting with Moonwalker, logging and ripping. When he returns he'll be off to Spain to take up his invite for the Joel Tudor Duct Tape Invitational at Salinas and represent UK Logging..Yeeewwww!!

I love the idea of this competition. Leashless, singlefins, style and noseriding, the essence of what riding a log is all about. The 2nd Duct Tape Invitational sponsored by Vans starts tomorrow at Montauk on the East Coast and has some of the best of the current crop doing their best to take home the 10k. 400th Aniversary

This is me! I know some people blog each day and stirling performance for those that do. I try to blog when I can, and over 4 years I've averaged 100 per year and am stoked with this. Many people have left some very kind comments about my shots, thanks to those who have bought some work or have thought it worthy of being in their books (thanks AC and switchfoot) or online magazines like Drift. This shot was taken by Dave Muir and his hassleblad. The fat cheeks are mine, the Joel tudor, stu kenson shaped 6'8" single fin is also mine and the bright bobble hat is definately mine. Happy 400th to me.
